This privacy policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you use the Beany iOS application ("the App") or visit martinschreiter.de ("the Website").

Beany App

Data You Provide

Beany allows you to track your coffee beans, log brews, save recipes, and record tasting notes. All this data is stored locally on your device and synced to your personal iCloud account via Apple's CloudKit service. We do not have access to your iCloud data.

The data you may provide includes:

• Coffee bean information (roaster, origin, process, tasting notes)
• Brew logs (dose, yield, time, grind settings, ratings)
• Recipes and brewing methods
• Personal preferences and settings

iCloud Sync

Beany uses Apple's CloudKit to sync your data across your Apple devices. Your data is stored in your private iCloud container, which means only you can access it. We cannot read, access, or share your synced data. Apple's privacy policy applies to iCloud storage.

Sign in with Apple

If you choose to sign in with Apple, we only receive the information you choose to share. Apple may provide us with a unique identifier and, if you choose, your email address (which can be hidden using Apple's private relay service). We use this information solely to identify your account.

Analytics

Beany uses TelemetryDeck for privacy-friendly analytics. TelemetryDeck collects anonymous usage data to help us understand how the app is used and improve it. This data includes:

• App version and iOS version
• Device type (e.g., iPhone model)
• App usage patterns (screens visited, features used)
• App crashes and errors

TelemetryDeck does not collect personal information, device identifiers, or any data that could identify you personally. All data is anonymized and aggregated. For more information, see TelemetryDeck's privacy policy.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with third parties. Your coffee tracking data stays on your device and in your personal iCloud account.

Website

The website martinschreiter.de does not collect personal information. We do not use cookies or tracking scripts. The website is hosted on Vercel, which may collect standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for security and performance purposes. See Vercel's privacy policy for details.

Your Rights

Under GDPR and other applicable data protection laws, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Object to processing of your data
• Request data portability

Since your Beany data is stored in your personal iCloud account, you have full control over it. You can delete the app and its data at any time through your device settings.

Children's Privacy

Beany is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy.
